Expertise and Services

COREM’s expertise is confirmed in the six ore processing areas (comminution, physical separation, flotation, extractive metallurgy as well as pelletizing and thermal processes). This expertise is recognized internationally and it enables COREM to undertake a wide range of activities in pre-competitive research, development and contractual services to support the needs of its members and non-members. Work undertaken by COREM can take the form of laboratory studies, proofs of concept, development support and process control, performance optimization and analyses of physical, chemical and mineralogical characteristics.

COREM’s qualified staff and state-of-the-art facilities at the cutting edge of technology are well-prepared to carry out tasks from simple screenings to comprehensive pilot projects on a semi-industrial scale of a complete ore processing circuit. COREM also has an analytical services laboratory (ASL) that performs the physical preparation of samples and the determination of major and minor elements in various mineral matrices as well as the analysis of several parameters in liquid samples. The ASL is accredited by the Standards Council of Canada (SCC) through the Bureau de normalisation du Quebec (BNQ) according to ISO/IEC 17025:2005.
